This <strong>75%<\/strong> drop from its November 2024 peaks comes amidst a general decline in altcoins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main goals of the Rebased update was to <strong>attract new developers<\/strong> and expedite the development of decentralized applications on the IOTA network. Despite promising technical features like a processing capacity of over <strong>50,000 transactions per second<\/strong> and finality in less than a second, the results have been disappointing so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Third-party data shows that developer activity on IOTA has remained low since the rollout of Rebased. Only <strong>one decentralized application (dApp)<\/strong> is currently listed on DeFi Llama, with<strong> $9.76 million<\/strong> locked in. In comparison, recently launched chains like Unichain and Sonic have already attracted dozens of developers and millions of dollars in assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, activity indicators on the IOTA network, such as the number of transactions and active addresses, have remained low. The number of transactions over 30 days has plummeted by <strong>86%<\/strong> to only <strong>621,100,<\/strong> while the number of active addresses stood at <strong>8,376.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"interesting-yield-opportunities-despite-price-decline\">Interesting Yield Opportunities Despite Price Decline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this downward trend, IOTA still presents interesting prospects for investors. Its staking pools have accumulated over <strong>$334 million<\/strong> in assets, resulting in a <strong>45%<\/strong> staking ratio. These investors are earning an annual yield of <strong>13.47%,<\/strong> which exceeds the average of layer 1 and 2 chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24IOTA&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$IOTA<\/a> has been in accumulation for over 1,000 days.
