This ambitious initiative could disrupt traditional financial norms and position the country as a <strong>pioneer<\/strong> in the <strong>institutional adoption<\/strong> of <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/learn\/crypto\/\">cryptocurrencies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent discussions between Indonesian officials and the <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/buy\/bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> Indonesia organization have highlighted several key areas :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bitcoin mining<\/strong>, facilitated by the country&#8217;s <strong>abundant energy resources<\/strong> (hydroelectricity, geothermal).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education<\/strong>, considered <strong>essential<\/strong> for encouraging <strong>mass adoption<\/strong> of the cryptocurrency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the arguments presented were projections from renowned investor Michael Saylor :<br>A Bitcoin value of <strong>$13 million by 2045<\/strong> in a moderate scenario, and up to <strong>$49 million<\/strong> in a bullish outlook. Since <strong>2017<\/strong>, <strong>cryptocurrency payments<\/strong> have been prohibited in Indonesia. More recently, the government introduced <strong>strict taxation<\/strong> on <strong>transactions<\/strong> and <strong>mining<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the reality on the ground is evolving : In Bali, it&#8217;s already possible to pay for real estate with BTC. This indicates that <strong>crypto-asset usage<\/strong> is gaining ground, even in the face of a <strong>rigid regulatory environment<\/strong>. By considering <strong>BTC as an economic pillar<\/strong>, Indonesia is sending a strong signal.
