This impressive amount would put Tether on par with leading technology companies like <strong>OpenAI<\/strong> or <strong>SpaceX<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to CEO <strong>Paolo Ardoino<\/strong>, Tether is exploring capital raising opportunities with renowned investors to <strong>significantly accelerate the deployment<\/strong> of its strategy in both existing and new areas. Two explanations are offered : first, these $15 to $20 billion would allow faster investment over 3 to 4 quarters; second, it would provide current shareholders the opportunity to secure a portion of their capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-undisputed-stablecoin-leader\">The Undisputed Stablecoin Leader<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tether is best known for its stablecoins, <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/learn\/crypto\/\">cryptocurrencies<\/a> backed by <strong>traditional currencies<\/strong>. With a market capitalization of approximately <strong>$172 billion<\/strong>, its <strong>USDT<\/strong> token pegged to the US dollar dominates the market. It is nearly <strong>2.3 times larger<\/strong> than the second-largest player, <strong>Circle&#8217;s<\/strong> USDC, valued at $74 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This success is explained by Tether&#8217;s strategy of investing its stablecoin reserves in <strong>US Treasury bonds<\/strong>, generating high interest returns in recent years. The group reported profits of $4.9 billion in the second quarter of 2025, with <strong>a profit margin of 99%<\/strong>.
