In this situation, the overwhelming majority of <strong>liquidations<\/strong> involved short sales, signaling that many traders were betting on a <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/buy\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a> price drop&#8230; until the market suddenly reversed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across the entire crypto market, <strong>$364.32 million<\/strong> were liquidated in 24 hours, with <strong>$266.99 million<\/strong> from short positions and <strong>$97.33 million<\/strong> from long positions. Bitcoin alone accounted for more than $114 million in liquidations, illustrating BTC&#8217;s dominance in this upheaval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-role-of-derivatives-markets-in-the-crypto-ecosystem\">The Role of Derivatives Markets in the Crypto Ecosystem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Derivatives markets, which include futures contracts, options, and structured products, have become one of the preferred playing fields for experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/\">cryptocurrency<\/a> investors. According to several analysts, maintaining above <strong>$119,500<\/strong> would signal the possibility of a rally <strong>toward $122,000<\/strong> or even a new ATH.
