According to reported on-chain data, credit withdrawals (borrowings) on the NEXO platform have suffered a dramatic plunge. In January 2025, activity was at its peak with <strong>$136.63 million<\/strong> in withdrawals, signaling blind confidence from retail investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the situation is radically different. After a local peak in June, volumes collapsed to reach a critical floor of approximately <strong>$22 million<\/strong> in November, before struggling to stabilize around <strong>$24 million<\/strong> in early 2026. This <strong>retracement<\/strong> of over <strong>80%<\/strong> indicates extreme risk aversion: traders are paying down their debts and <strong>exiting the market<\/strong>, fearing increased volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Borrowing demand is rising again.<br><br>Credit withdrawals on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Nexo?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Nexo<\/a> reached $24M in January (+9% MoM), signaling a steady recovery, while Aave data shows leverage returning across DeFi.<br><br>The rebuild has started, but remains cautious. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ooAduSEgo2\">pic.twitter.com\/ooAduSEgo2<\/a><\/p>&mdash; CryptoQuant.com (@cryptoquant_com) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cryptoquant_com\/status\/2019321915739877873?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 5, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This phenomenon is not isolated. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/crypto-investing\/defi\/aave\/\">Aave<\/a><\/strong> protocol is experiencing a similar trend, with Ethereum borrowings dropping from 1.2 million ETH to just <strong>300,000 ETH.<\/strong> This leverage purge is cleaning up the market, but it also deprives prices of the fuel needed for an immediate <strong>rally<\/strong>. Over the past few days, liquidity has been returning, but in a &#8220;cautious&#8221; manner according to CryptoQuant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"can-nexos-price-survive-this-purge\">Can NEXO&#8217;s price survive this purge?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From a chart perspective, the punishment is immediate. The NEXO <a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/learn\/crypto\/bitget-token-bgb\/\">token<\/a> is currently trading in a price zone between <strong>$0.66 and $0.68<\/strong>, showing a significant decline over the last 24 hours. The absence of credit demand acts as a natural brake on upward movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical analysis:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Critical support:<\/strong> The <strong>$0.65<\/strong> zone must absolutely hold. A break of this level could trigger bearish acceleration toward historical lows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Key resistance:<\/strong> To hope for a reversal, bulls must reclaim <strong>$0.76<\/strong>, a level that would correspond to renewed speculative interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Indicators:<\/strong> The stabilization of credit withdrawals since December suggests that the worst of the capitulation may be over. On one hand, it signals a market &#8220;cleaned&#8221; of its speculative excesses, often a prerequisite for a healthy <strong>bull run<\/strong>. On the other hand, it shows that liquidity is becoming scarce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, NEXO has broken its major bullish trendline on higher timeframes. Caution is warranted.
