This mechanism is often associated with blockchains using a <strong>Proof-of-Stake<\/strong> consensus model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before getting started, companies will need to obtain <strong>prior written approval<\/strong> from the SFC. The SFC will define the specific requirements to follow to offer this type of service securely and transparently. After being criticized for the slow licensing process, Hong Kong now aims to catch up with places like Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to <strong>staking<\/strong>, the government has announced its intention to soon introduce regulation on <strong>stablecoins<\/strong>.
