It all started on February 10<\/strong>, when the victim received calls from individuals presenting themselves as representatives of Bank of America<\/strong> and Chase Bank<\/strong>. The scammers told her that her bank accounts and credit cards had been compromised by criminals<\/a>. For four and a half hours<\/strong>, they kept her on the line, steadily building fear and a sense of absolute urgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fraudsters first instructed her to make wire transfers<\/strong> to an account they controlled. A genuine bank employee eventually flagged and blocked a second large transfer after detecting suspicious activity \u2014 but the scammers even turned this intervention to their advantage. The second suspect, James Arthur Graves Graham Jr., 24<\/strong>, was identified through clothing found during a search of his apartment \u2014 items matching what was worn during the theft.
