Yet behind these encouraging figures, on-chain flows<\/strong> and derivatives data<\/strong> tell a far more nuanced story. Accumulation or distribution? The market is still refusing to pick a side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is what the data actually reveals \u2014 and why professional traders are keeping their powder dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Deeper Order Book, but Still No Clear Direction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The XRP 30-day liquidity index<\/strong> on Binance<\/strong> has climbed to 0.0675<\/strong>, its highest reading in approximately six months. At the same time, monthly turnover volume<\/strong> has bounced back to $4.6 billion<\/strong>, after remaining stuck between $2 billion and $3 billion throughout July and August. A deeper order book means tighter execution and less slippage \u2014 which mechanically attracts more institutional players and market makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But a thick order book is a neutral tool: it facilitates both accumulation and distribution equally. Data from CryptoQuant<\/strong> confirms that XRP spot volume<\/strong> on Binance<\/strong> peaked at a six-month high of $7.28 billion<\/strong> in August, with Korean platforms such as Upbit<\/strong> and Bithumb<\/strong> also posting solid monthly totals. XRP<\/strong> closed August up 28.5%<\/strong> \u2014 its best performance for that month since 2021 \u2014 and US spot XRP ETFs<\/a><\/strong> recorded $153.55 million<\/strong> in net inflows over the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This spike could reflect genuine trading demand, internal wallet rebalancing, or market maker repositioning ahead of a volatility event. Derivatives Confirm a Tentative Recovery, Not a Breakout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the derivatives<\/strong> side, the picture is consistent with this cautious tone.
