Bitcoin<\/strong> is trading in a tight tension zone at $83,000<\/strong>, just 0.71% above its 24-hour low of $82,700. The market is holding its breath ahead of the release of the August core PCE<\/strong>, the Federal Reserve’s<\/strong> preferred inflation gauge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A single number could be enough to reshuffle the deck: a stronger-than-expected inflation reading would reinforce expectations of a restrictive monetary policy<\/strong>, while a downside surprise could breathe new life into risk assets. BTC<\/strong> is squarely in the firing line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The window is narrow, and so is the room for maneuver. Here is what traders need to watch in the hours ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For August, forecasts ranged between 0.3% and 0.5% on a monthly basis<\/strong>, with consensus sitting around 3.4% year-over-year for core PCE<\/strong> and 3.8%<\/strong> for the headline PCE<\/strong>. The central bank had already hiked rates by 25 basis points in September<\/strong>, and a majority of FOMC<\/strong> members were anticipating at least one additional hike before the end of 2026. Conversely, a monthly inflation print below 0.3% could fuel a rebound in risk-on sentiment<\/a>, with Bitcoin<\/strong> potentially able to defend the $83,000<\/strong> level and target a recovery toward higher resistance zones.
