In May 2025, it held 2.76 million USDT<\/a><\/strong> in a Fireblocks<\/strong> wallet dedicated to its treasury operations. That wallet had previously processed 4,427 transactions<\/strong> with a cumulative volume of over $1.1 billion<\/strong> across 78 different counterparties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tether<\/strong> froze the entire balance on its own initiative, without any prior notification. When Conduit<\/strong> sought an explanation, the stablecoin<\/strong> issuer simply directed the company to the Brazilian Federal Police<\/strong>. The problem: the Federal Police confirmed they had never requested the freeze. The Brazilian criminal court<\/strong> further clarified that Conduit is not under investigation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason cited by Tether<\/strong> appears to point toward a third party: Onix Intermedia\u00e7\u00f5es Ltda.<\/strong>, a Brazilian company that had used Conduit<\/strong>‘s platform.
