However, a glimmer of hope emerged with a US judge&#8217;s decision to compel Donald Trump to end his trade war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEWS: A federal court just invalidated Trump\u2019s \u201dLiberation Day&quot; tariffs, ruling he exceeded his authority under IEEPA. The court said Trump can\u2019t bypass Congress to set trade policy and that these tariffs are unconstitutional and void. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MaAQSOoub9\">pic.twitter.com\/MaAQSOoub9<\/a><\/p>&mdash; MeidasTouch (@MeidasTouch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MeidasTouch\/status\/1927869263387275411?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 28, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, President <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/investx.fr\/en\/crypto-news\/trump-company-raise-billions-bitcoin\/\">Trump<\/a> <\/strong>had imposed tariffs based on a <strong>1977 economic emergency<\/strong> law. But the judge ruled that there was <strong>no acute crisis<\/strong>, as the United States has had a trade deficit with the rest of the world for nearly half a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It remains to be seen if Trump will abide by this decision, as he has previously ignored similar judgments. The government has, in fact, <strong>appealed<\/strong> this new ruling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, financial markets do not seem to be taking this judicial decision seriously or believe that Trump will ignore it. As a result, the price of Bitcoin has <strong>dropped<\/strong> by several thousand dollars, whereas this news should have actually propelled it upwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-bear-trap-or-a-fall-for-bitcoin\">A Bear Trap or a Fall for Bitcoin?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible that Bitcoin needs to take a breather after its recent surge. Since the April low related to the trade war, the price has indeed increased very rapidly, gaining <strong>27%<\/strong> compared to only <strong>15%<\/strong> for the Nasdaq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investors have likely taken their <strong>profits<\/strong> from Bitcoin to reinvest them in other assets. However, this does not negate recent positive news, such as massive Bitcoin purchases by some companies, including <strong>GameStop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite these fluctuations, the momentum remains generally positive for Bitcoin.
