Altcoins : The Revenge Against Bitcoin
A few days ago, as Bitcoin approached a new all-time high, altcoins followed the momentum to challenge its supremacy. Despite its recent price surge, BTC quickly fell back to $110,000, a classic scenario when assets test new levels on the charts. This dynamic allowed altcoins to take center stage.
According to Joao Wedson, a market expert, a mini altcoin season is currently underway. At the time of writing, 98% of altcoins had indeed outperformed Bitcoin in just 48 hours. This exceptional performance places altcoins in the “altseason” zone, highlighting their short-term dominance.
Additionally, the “whales versus retail” ratio has remained above 1.1 since late June, indicating accumulation by large investors. This trend correlates with the price increases of both Bitcoin and altcoins, strengthening the hypothesis of a bullish crypto market.
Is Bitcoin’s Declining Dominance a Catalyst for an Altseason ?
Another revealing indicator is Bitcoin’s dominance drop, falling from 66% to 64%. This decline suggests a transfer of funds from investors to alternative digital assets, signaling an increased appetite for these assets with high growth potential.

As altcoins gain ground, driven by Bitcoin’s retreat, traders are increasingly turning to these alternative cryptocurrencies. While the sustainability of this mini altcoin season remains to be confirmed, current signals show that investors are willing to take greater risks in this market segment.
