BERA explodes: short squeeze and brutal reversal

February 11th marks a turning point for Berachain (BERA). While the token was trading near its lows following concerns about unlocks, it suddenly recorded a spectacular rally of +150% in 24 hours, catching the market off guard. This move erased weeks of bearish pressure in a single impulsive candle.

This surge triggered a massive short squeeze, liquidating short positions and fueling a vertical rise boosted by exploding volumes on DEXs and CEXs. The dynamics have radically changed: from bearish and hesitant sentiment, the market has shifted to outright speculative euphoria.

But this pump isn’t purely technical. It’s backed by a major fundamental pivot, suggesting this could be a structural reversal rather than just a simple technical bounce at the end of a trend.

New economic model: towards a $5 BERA?

The main catalyst is the announcement of the “Bera Builds Businesses” (BBB) program and the Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL) v2 update. This new model aims to transform BERA into a Real Yield generating asset by developing protocols capable of producing revenue that’s redistributed or reinvested into the ecosystem.

The PoL v2 update also introduces native staking, reducing circulating supply and creating potential supply shock. This mechanism strengthens organic demand for the token and profoundly changes its value proposition, shifting from a simple speculative token to an asset backed by a more tangible economy.

After such a rally, caution remains necessary: consolidation would be healthy to stabilize the price. However, if BERA maintains its breakout levels and TVL follows, an ambitious target like $5 could quickly enter investors’ radar.
