Renowned crypto figure Cathie Wood recently expressed excitement about Hyperliquid, drawing parallels to Solana's early days. What is sparking interest in this savvy investor?
During an interview for the Master Investor podcast, Cathie Wood expressed being highly impressed by Hyperliquid, a decentralized platform that, according to her, resembles the promising early days of Solana. Now one of the major blockchains in the crypto ecosystem, Solana had captivated Wood from its beginnings. The ARK Invest founder seems to perceive the same potential in Hyperliquid.
ARK Invest currently invests in three flagship cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). The latter is held through Breera Sports, a company connected to Solana’s treasury and backed by Middle Eastern investors. The renowned economist Art Laffer, a close associate of Cathie Wood, is also reportedly involved as an advisor.
Although ARK hasn’t yet invested directly in Hyperliquid, Wood is closely monitoring the platform’s development. “It’s definitely a project to watch closely,” she stated.
The HYPE token is already capturing everyone’s attention: Designed to reward its community and propel the Hyperliquid ecosystem, it could become one of the most sought-after tokens in the market. Getting into HYPE today means gaining an edge before the explosion.

Cathie Wood’s interest in Hyperliquid comes at a time when competition between decentralized exchanges (DEXs) is intensifying. In the perpetual futures market, new players like Aster have recently launched their token, temporarily surpassing Hyperliquid in trading volume. Nevertheless, Hyperliquid remains an attractive platform, particularly for individual and algorithmic traders, thanks to its low costs, ultra-fast transactions, and airdrops.
For institutions, centralized exchanges often remain more convenient for regulatory compliance and fiat management, but the performance gap is rapidly narrowing. Modern DEXs like Hyperliquid and dYdX v4 now offer almost the same speed and liquidity as traditional exchanges. Despite the multitude of crypto projects, Cathie Wood believes that only a few major players will survive long-term: Bitcoin as the benchmark, Ethereum as the DeFi pillar, and stablecoins as crucial elements of the ecosystem.
Cathie Wood’s enthusiasm for Hyperliquid underscores the growing importance of decentralized platforms in the crypto universe. Her interest in this project demonstrates a constant vigilance towards innovation, and her opinion could have a significant impact on upcoming trends, encouraging investors to closely follow her analyses.
