The REX-OSPREY XRP ETF (XRPR) alone generated a volume of $37.7 million, an absolute record for a launch in 2025. The Dogecoin fund (DOJE) also performed impressively with nearly $17 million traded, placing it among the top five launches of the year.
Crypto ETFs Gain Legitimacy With Regulators
Notably, these crypto ETFs innovate on the regulatory front by being registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, known as the “Act 40”, rather than the Securities Act of 1933 typically used. This distinction allows them to obtain SEC approval more quickly, while subjecting them to certain constraints on eligible assets.
As a result, XRPR and DOJE don’t invest directly in XRP and Dogecoin, but through foreign exchange-traded products based in Europe and Canada. This indirect structure, however, hasn’t deterred investors from flocking to these new investment vehicles.
