Memecoins Are Making a Strong Comeback
The first encouraging sign comes from the performance of the memecoins sector. These assets are beginning to outperform other market segments, signaling a return to favor among investors. As the altseason intensifies in the second half of 2025, memecoins could well benefit from a more significant wave of buying.

Data from CoinGecko reveals that over the past month, the memecoins sector has displayed a return of 31%, outclassing all other crypto sectors. Admittedly, this figure remains modest compared to the peaks of 2024. Nevertheless, this performance is driven by flagship tokens like BONK and PENGU, perhaps foreshadowing a renewed appetite for the most viral assets.
Murad’s Record Portfolio Creates Buzz
Another precursor sign of a new cycle favorable to memecoins is the record valuation of influential trader Murad’s portfolio. According to Arkham data, his memecoin holdings have climbed to nearly 57 million dollars, a new all-time high.

Murad is recognized by the crypto community as one of the most brilliant investors in this field. This achievement could rekindle the interest of other traders in the opportunities offered by memecoins. As Arkham points out, “Murad’s portfolio has reached a new all-time high of $56.9 million. In six months, it has surpassed its previous record established in January. He hasn’t moved a single one of his tokens for more than 8 months.”
The Explosion of New Memecoins on Solana
The third notable trend is the buzz around the creation of new memecoins on the Solana network in July. A substantial portion of this activity comes from the Letsbonk.fun platform, which recorded an absolute record of 19,900 tokens created on July 16, according to Dune data.
This wave of launches has propelled the number of daily active addresses on Solana launchpads to more than 260,000, up 60% from the previous month. Events such as the Pump.fun token launch have also helped attract new capital to memecoin projects.
