The Remarkable Rise of Solana Treasury Holdings
Since last May, SOL has generated record interest among companies holding crypto treasury reserves. In July alone, the trading volume of SOL by these companies reached 4 billion dollars, significantly outpacing the 460 million attracted by XRP during the same period.
In total, companies have accumulated 4.3 million SOL, representing a value of approximately 905 million dollars at current market prices. This massive adoption could propel SOL’s value, similar to Ethereum’s surge after public companies like BitMine began heavily investing in that asset.
In contrast, XRP has so far attracted only marginal interest from companies for their crypto treasury holdings. If this trend continues after the approval of spot ETFs, Solana could gain the upper hand over XRP in the coming months.
SOL Surpasses XRP, But Watch for the Counterattack
Recently, Solana has outperformed XRP by 27% and has also outperformed Ethereum and Bitcoin. Analysts are predicting a major rally for SOL in the 4th quarter.
Meanwhile, XRP has experienced massive profit-taking, but has recorded record interest in CME futures contracts, indicating institutional appetite. It would therefore be premature to dismiss it.
Indeed, both assets should benefit from a new wave of demand with the imminent approval of spot ETFs. However, Solana might have a slight advantage due to the strong demand for crypto treasury holdings, following in Ethereum’s footsteps.
