The choice of Benji Taylor is highly significant for the social network. This British designer is a true purist of the crypto ecosystem. Founder of the self-custodial wallet Family, he saw his company acquired by Aave Labs in 2023, where he served as Chief Product Officer. More recently, he held the position of Head of Design at Base, Coinbase’s layer 2.
By placing a decentralized finance (DeFi) expert at the helm of X’s user interface, Elon Musk is sending a strong signal. The objective is clear: to pave the way for a seamless and secure “everything app”. While the market had turned slightly bearish in the face of regulatory delays, this announcement acts as a true shockwave.
Taylor’s background at Aave and Base is no coincidence. They embody two pillars of modern Web3, spanning decentralized lending protocols and high-performance layer 2 networks. His hiring by X suggests that crypto integration is no longer mere speculation, but a roadmap that is already well underway.
Scheduled for a rollout in April 2026 across more than 40 US states, the X Money service will initially offer peer-to-peer payments, debit cards, and attractive yields on fiat deposits. However, Taylor’s arrival hints at a major technological breakout with the imminent integration of digital assets.
Renowned analysts, such as Willy Woo, believe this hire confirms the desire to integrate native crypto features. Such an update would instantly expose hundreds of millions of users to Web3. This bridge between traditional finance and the blockchain could very well propel the market toward a new historic rally and reignite a true bull run.
If X Money integrates cryptocurrencies, trading volumes could shatter current records, erasing any likelihood of a short-term correction for the billionaire’s favorite assets. Dogecoin and altcoins already seem to be positioning themselves in anticipation. Is it time to accumulate before the news becomes official? Investors who follow the rules of the bull run know it: the best opportunities are always seized before the official announcement.
