Bitcoin ETFs Log Longest Inflow Streak in 9 Months — Signaling a Major Institutional Comeback

Spot Bitcoin ETFs have just recorded 7 consecutive days of net inflows — a streak not seen in nine months. It is a clear signal that institutional investors are no longer sitting on the sidelines when it comes to crypto.

Behind this figure lies a deeper dynamic worth unpacking: who is buying, how much, and above all, why now?

Because while ETF flows alone do not dictate the price of Bitcoin, they remain one of the most reliable indicators of institutional sentiment — and what they are telling us today is particularly telling.

Seven Days of Positive Flows: An Institutional Signal You Cannot Ignore

US spot Bitcoin ETFs have strung together seven consecutive sessions of net inflows, a performance not seen since October 2024. At the time, that same dynamic preceded a significant rally in BTC — which gives the current streak a particular resonance for market observers.

Inflows into Bitcoin ETFs — notably those from BlackRock (IBIT), Fidelity (FBTC), and ARK Invest (ARKB) — represent direct, measurable institutional demand. Unlike spot purchases on exchanges, these flows are publicly reported and trackable on a daily basis through sources such as CoinGlass and SEC filings. Their persistence across seven consecutive days points to genuine conviction, not a simple short-term arbitrage play.

This kind of extended streak is statistically rare. Since the launch of spot ETFs in January 2024, periods of sustained positive flows beyond five consecutive days have consistently coincided with phases of bullish price action or high-level consolidation. The market is holding its breath.

Why Institutional Sentiment Is Shifting in Favor of Bitcoin Right Now

Several macro and on-chain catalysts explain this renewed institutional appetite. First, the rate environment: growing expectations of Fed monetary easing are repositioning risk assets — with Bitcoin at the front of the pack — as attractive alternatives in a world of declining bond yields. The big players are well aware of this.

On-chain data is also confirming a quiet but persistent accumulation trend. According to metrics available on CryptoQuant, outflows of BTC from centralized exchanges are holding at a sustained pace — a sign that buyers are choosing to hold their positions rather than leave them exposed to spot market liquidity. Less available supply, rising ETF demand: the equation is favorable.

Finally, the April 2024 halving continues to produce its delayed effects on supply. Historically, post-halving cycles see miner selling pressure gradually ease, which mechanically amplifies the impact of any additional institutional demand. The current ETF inflow streak is therefore unfolding against a structurally supportive backdrop for BTC.

What This Dynamic Means for the Weeks Ahead

A seven-day net inflow streak does not guarantee a continuation of the uptrend — the crypto market remains prone to sharp reversals. But it does represent a confirmation signal that institutional sentiment, after several weeks of caution, is regaining momentum. The heavy outflows seen during the corrections of early 2025 appear to belong to the recent past.

Traders will now be watching two key elements closely: whether ETFs can sustain positive flows beyond the symbolic ten-consecutive-day mark, and how the price of Bitcoin responds to major technical resistance levels. If institutional demand through ETFs holds up, it could provide the fuel needed for a decisive breakout.

In the near term, the market is entering a phase where every daily ETF flow report will be scrutinized as a barometer of sentiment. Seven days is already a nine-month record. The question now is whether institutions have genuinely shifted their stance — or whether this streak is simply a pause before another round of consolidation.
