Contradictory Statements on Memecoin Profits
In a recent interview, Trump made rather ambiguous statements when asked if he was profiting from his memecoin, TRUMP. Initially, he claimed to derive no benefit from this initiative. A few moments later, he admitted, “I haven’t even looked.” Before adding that if he benefits from the good management of the token, “I guess I’m profiting”. These contradictory responses raise questions about the actual level of Trump’s involvement in this operation.

Launched on January 17, 2025, the TRUMP token reached highs of $73.43, just before the American president’s inauguration. However, it has since plummeted by nearly 85%. Despite this steep decline, the token recently saw a resurgence after Trump promised a private dinner to key holders.
Token Supply Control by Trump Entities
While Trump downplays his involvement, two entities linked to his business empire, CIC Digital LLC and Fight Fight Fight LLC, control 80% of the total supply of his tokens. These shares are locked and will be gradually released by 2028. In April 2025, CIC Digital even unlocked tokens worth $454 million.
Trump continues to show his support for the cryptocurrency sector, warning that without American innovation, China could dominate this market. However, some critics, including Republican senators, have questioned his memecoin-related activities, seeing a potential conflict of interest.
