Institutional Wave Flooding XRP Markets
The arrival of XRP ETFs marks a major turning point for the asset. Unlike previous cycles dominated by retail investors, this movement is driven by smart money. According to Coinpedia, XRP ETFs have already attracted over $1 billion in net inflows in just two months, signaling a structural shift in the market.
Specifically, approximately 746 million XRP have been locked up by ETF issuers, representing just over 1% of the circulating supply. While this percentage may seem limited, its impact is significant. ETF issuers are removing these tokens from active circulation, creating mechanical upward pressure. Since launch, the market has recorded only one day of outflows, confirming sustained institutional accumulation.
This dynamic is progressively reducing available liquidity and reinforcing the thesis of an institutional-driven bull run, far more sustainable than purely speculative rallies.
Supply Shock and Price Targets for 2026
If the trend continues, experts estimate that XRP ETF assets under management could reach $5 billion by mid-2026. Such a level would imply locking up approximately 2.6 billion XRP, nearly 4% of the total supply, significantly intensifying asset scarcity.
This potential shortage is reinforced by the 58% drop in XRP reserves on exchanges in 2025. Investors are massively transferring their tokens to cold storage and ETFs, adopting a long-term HODL strategy. This dynamic reduces selling pressure and sets the stage for a bullish squeeze if demand continues to grow.
In this context, analysts are revising their price targets upward. After establishing a key zone around $1.88 as support, a move toward $2.30 appears accessible. Longer term, some models suggest potential for XRP at $8 by 2026, driven by sustained institutional adoption. Whether the market will confirm this scenario remains to be seen against macroeconomic conditions and overall volatility.
