Rising Bitcoin Volume Indicator Despite Price Consolidation
Despite a period of consolidation between $102,000 and $112,000 since May, Bitcoin’s on-balance volume (OBV) indicator continues to rise. This upward trend in Bitcoin OBV is seen as a sign of hidden accumulation of the cryptocurrency, indicating strong underlying demand.
Historical analysis has shown that Bitcoin tends to experience a significant rise when the OBV indicates underlying buying pressure during price consolidation periods. In March-April 2025, a similar OBV divergence preceded a 57% increase in BTC price. This dynamic suggests that BTC could experience a similar bullish momentum in the short term.
Classic Bullish Technical Pattern Forming for BTC
Technically, Bitcoin is currently forming a bullish flag pattern. This is a typical continuation pattern after a strong upward movement followed by a consolidation phase. This technical setup generally indicates a continuation of the positive trend.

Analysts believe that if Bitcoin successfully breaks out from this flag pattern to the upside, its price target would be around $130,000, possibly $135,000, by the third quarter of 2025. This forecast aligns with expectations of renowned professionals like Mike Novogratz of Galaxy Digital, who foresee Bitcoin at $130,000-$150,000 in the medium term.
The bullish technical signals and underlying accumulation suggest a positive trend for Bitcoin’s price in the coming months. However, investors should exercise caution and conduct their own analysis before making investment decisions.
