While Bitcoin hits new highs, altcoins struggle to keep up. A mere 20% increase could kickstart a thriving altseason. Here's the key level for investors to monitor.
After reaching a peak at around $111,800, the price of Bitcoin is stabilizing around $111,000. This indicates a slight correction phase. Additionally, BlackRock recently acquired 8,000 BTC for over $877 million. This marks the largest fund inflow in May. Despite this, individual investors have not yet jumped into buying, suggesting the potential for further upside.
On the other hand, altcoins like Ethereum, XRP, or Cardano are quietly accumulating, indicating a possible start to an altseason. By analyzing the market capitalization excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum, there is a rebound from a crucial support level. With only 20% left to recover from their peaks. Furthermore, levels have surpassed a pivotal resistance. Sustaining above this range could propel altcoin market capitalization to new records.
The recent market surge pushed levels above the conversion line, then above the base line of the Ichimoku indicator. If this trend continues, a bullish Ichimoku cloud crossover could occur, driving levels towards $1.13 trillion. This scenario would mark the start of Altseason 2025, enabling altcoins to reach new highs.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s dominance continues to weaken after touching 65%. This suggests a slight shift in liquidity from Bitcoin to altcoins. With upward pressure on BTC price and a decrease in its value, along with a loss of dominance, altcoins could receive more momentum. However, to trigger a robust altseason, the Bitcoin price must hold steady between $105,000 and $108,000.
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing dynamic movements, paving the way for a potential energetic altseason in the second half of 2025. With Bitcoin needing to stabilize in a key range, informed investors will be closely monitoring the progress of altcoins in the months ahead.
