Massive Whale Purchases : A Sign of Trend Reversal ?

The largest Ethereum holders, those owning between 1,000 and 10,000 ETH, made the biggest single-day buying spree since 2018. According to Glassnode data, these “whales” absorbed nearly $2.5 billion worth of ETH.

This sudden spike, visible on the histogram, signifies a record shift in these large investors’ net position. A similar occurrence was noted in 2017, just before the powerful bullish rally of ETH. Could this be the beginning of a new upward movement ?

Institutional Investment Influx : A Sign of Confidence

In parallel to these massive purchases by “whales,” Ethereum saw net flows of over $450 million into ETFs on the spot market in the past week. An inflow of institutional capital reflecting renewed interest in the second cryptocurrency.

This trend comes as the ETH price remains near a key support level, highlighting a bullish divergence. Rather than signaling a market top, these dynamics suggest a consolidation phase before a potential rally.

Promising Outlook for Ethereum

Beyond these technical indicators, Ethereum is witnessing increasing institutional adoption. Since the beginning of 2025, real assets tokenized on the Ethereum blockchain have seen a parabolic rise, totaling over $4 billion.

With growing investor confidence and the surge in tokenized assets, Ethereum is increasingly establishing itself as a leading financial hub. If this trend continues, the second cryptocurrency could be on the brink of a significant breakthrough.
