According to information provided by Trump Media, this massive capital will be raised through a combination of stock sales and convertible bond issuance. With this amount, the group could acquire over 22,700 Bitcoin, immediately propelling them among the largest institutional BTC holders globally.
Following this announcement, the price of Bitcoin surged rapidly. It jumped from $109,500 to $110,700 in just 15 minutes. Currently, the cryptocurrency is trading around $110,000, reflecting investors’ enthusiasm towards this decision.
Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media, stated in a press release: “We consider Bitcoin as the ultimate means of financial freedom and will now hold it as a core asset of our company. This acquisition represents the first of many initiatives to protect ourselves against the bullying and discrimination faced by many American companies financially.”
This move by Trump Media marks a significant step in institutional adoption of Bitcoin. While many large corporations still hesitate due to crypto market uncertainty, the American president’s gamble highlights the growing confidence in digital assets.
Beyond this massive investment, Trump Media is also considering launching several crypto funds. The company is even exploring the possibility of creating its own digital currency and a dedicated wallet. These initiatives showcase the rapid evolution of the crypto ecosystem towards widespread adoption by major corporations.
